Easter Girl

With Easter fast approaching I thought I would dabble with the theme and see what comes of it.

I found this cute little Easter Girl and coloured her skin and hair using E00, E02, E33, E35, E37 and her Jumpsuit using RV000, RV4, RV6, RV10, RV13 and RV21. I used X-Press It Blending Card and think she has come out quite cute.

Now you all know that I prefer to concentrate on experimenting with Copic techniques rather than on the card making itself and so this leads me to the " egg-citing" part of this card.....the background!

I created the background from scratch.....yes that's right. There is no stamped image at all in the background. I used the Copic Airbrush system (which I love) to create the sky and clouds. Then I used my multiliner to draw up the pavement, and my C-1, C-3 and C-5 to create the shadow on the footpath. I added a little bit of grass just to soften the edges....and voila....a handmade background!

The card itself is pretty basic and nothing flash, but I really wanted to keep the focus on the image and background techniques!

A Copic Me Investigation: The Colourless Blender

Ok, so anyone who uses Copic will know that the "0" or the colourless blender is absolutely essential.

I thought I would see just how many different techniques (using my colourless blender) I could fit into one card. I can tell you that I have jam-packed the techniques in! So here is a bit of a competition.....with a PRIZE ofcourse!!!

If anyone can correctly count and name ALL of the different colourless blending techniques I have used to create this card you will WIN a pack of the amazing X-Press It Blending Card.

Have fun and happy counting!!!!

Winner will be announced on Monday 29th March!!!!!!

Another Wonderful Copic Workshop

Thank you to Debbie (Heaven Scent) and the wonderful ladies who joined me yesterday for a marathon 6 hour Copic Technique Workshop. Everyone had a great time and walked away with a bag full of goodies and a head full of Copic tips and tricks! Heaven Scent was jam packed with eager learners and what a great job they all did. Well done ladies and thank you again for a wonderful day! Here are some pics of the ladies hard at work!

The next 6 Hour Copic Technique class will be on Saturday 10th April 2010. Please let me know if you would like to join us.

Rain Girl

I love this little Greeting Farm girl.

I think she is just delicious!

I spent quite a bit of time with her as I tried to get her colouring just great!

I also tried to use a few different techniques on her. I started off by colouring, blending, shading, and feathering. I used a bit of tip to tip and coloured her jeweled buttons with the Copics.

I also coloured the ribbon and the flower which was originally white. Gotta love what COPIC can do!!!!!

I also stamped a second image of this little girl and cut out her pockets, hat, collar and sleeve cuffs to give a raised effect on the card.

I love layering both on my images and on my cards!....
and as you can probably tell by now....
I LOVE DOTS!!!!

(ps. Little girl blended on X-press It's amazing blending paper). You've got to get some if you
don't already have it! You'll love it!

Happy Blending!

Music Girl

Ok...so my Copic technique is definitely improving!

I stamped this beautiful little music girl, again using X-press It's amazing blending card and memento ink. I spent quite a while on her hair and divided it up into sections. I used E33, E35 and E37 to blend her hair.....and I love it! I used E00, E02 and R20 for her face. I then blended RV02, RV04 and V04 for her dress and shoes.

Where I found I didn't have enough of a shadow or wanted to highlight with a bit of glitz, I used the Spica pens to do this. The effect is great, and I am so so happy with the way this little girl turned out.

A Special Guy

I had lots of fun stamping this "special guy". I have used X-press Graph-X amazing blending paper and memento ink. I have played around with blending to white using my Copics.

I also used my multiliner to touch up the black areas I think he has come up pretty well! I mounted him using foam tape and added a few of Martha Stewards Dots to finish off the card.

Copic Technique Class

Thank you to Debbie, Cheryl and Robyn who sat in on the Copic Technique class at Heaven Scent in Croydon. We shared many tips and tricks and had a go blending and colouring cute images and a few flowers along the way! We all had fun and learned a lot as well. The next class is Sunday 21st March.....come along and share in the Copic fun!

Paperific - Amazarific!

Paperific expo was amazing! I got to meet so many wonderful people who were just blown away by the Copics. I can confidently say I converted many die-hard watercolorists to Copic users. They were so impressed with the vivid colours that they could use in their cardmaking and scrapbooking. Thanks to Debbie from Heaven Scent, I was able to have a "make & take" area on her stand where people came to stamp and colour with me. We had so much fun playing around with different effects and Copic techniques. Have a look at some of our pics....and my board of Copic samples.

Paperific Expo Here I Come

Ok...so my Copics and many cards and beautiful blended creations are finally packed and ready for the Paperific Expo at Melbourne Show Grounds. Come have a look at the amazing things that can be done with Copics!
