A Little Blue Pixie...and a fond farewell to the Mad for Markers DT Team!

Hi All,

For my Mad for Markers Monochromatic Challenge this week I thought I would use a little blue...and this gorgeous Swiss Pixie!

I had lots of fun blending with my blues. These are the colours that I used.

Remember all these colours and many more are available at Mad for Markers Online Store ...which is now selling to New Zealand!

I really enjoyed putting this card together, using lots of different papers, all with some glitz. I added in the swirls, hand coloured sentiment, inked the edges with my Copics and finally added lots of little gems!

So all in all ... a cute little card! ......which sadly is going to be my last card submission as a DT member of Mad for Markers! That right, I am sadly bidding the team a fond farewell .... it is for a very exciting reason though!

I have been selected as a Copic Regional Trainer and representative of Copic Australia. This is very exciting and a great honour! As such I have to step down from the Design Team. I have "cherished each moment" of being on the DT and thank Sammi, the other talented members of the DT and all you lovely ladies for your support and beautiful comments!

Please keep following me on this blog copicme.blogspot.com for Copic technique tips and tricks, and lots of information about Copic workshops and certification news!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!
lots of love

Bee Mine!

I've just finished off this card that I wanted to share with you...

I have used this gorgeous CC Design lil bug emma stamp on X-Press It Blending Card. I used the following colours to blend and ofcourse finished off with lots of clear Spica in her wings and gold Spica in her hair!

In the original image of Emma she doesn't have the black bee stripe across her belly. I used my multiliner to add in the stripe as I wanted her to look more like a bee, rather than a beautiful butterfly or fairy!

TIP:
The interesting thing about creating a black effect with Copics is that you don't need to use black at all. I find if I do use black (100) it is very flat and you can't show any definition in the shading. Whereas if you use a combination of grey, you will be able to get a good shaded black area. So.... to colour the "black" stripe on Emma's belly I used C-3, C-5 and C-7. This is my favourite combination for black!

I used Basic Grey's gorgeous Lemonade cardstock to put this card together and X-Press It foam tape to raise the image and a few of the panels!

I hope you enjoy the card and the tip, and don't forget to pop over to Stuff by Sammi for some great blog candy!

Have a great day

Yummy Ice-Cream and Some Sprinkles Too!

I created this shaker card for a Copic Class that I recently did, and thought that I'd share it with you! I am absolutely in love with all the CC design images...and so I used this gorgeous little girl eating ice-cream. Ice-cream is my favourite food in the whole wide world!

I used these colours to colour the little girl:

Skin: E00, E02
Hair: E31, E35, E43
Clothes: R27, R29, Y06, Y08

Remember that you are able to buy X-Press It Blending Card and Copics from Sammi at Mad for Markers.

I used this gorgeous cherry paper as my background for the Shaker Card and used a very simple red card stock as my frame.

I built up the frame using foam tape and closed in the window of the frame with acetate.

When it came to deciding what to put into the card to shake, I automatically thought about 100's and 1000's or Sprinkles as my children call them. My children love to put sprinkles on top of their ice-creams! So, voila...the perfect shake to my shaker card!

Hope you enjoy the card and have a wonderful weekend.

Pepper & Friends

I thought I would post this card I made using a new range of stamps called Pepper and Friends which I got from Heaven Scent. They are Acrylic stamps, which I found stamped up beautifully using Memento ink on X-Press It Blending Card! This is my favourite paper to stamp and blend on.

To colour Pepper and his friend I used E33, E35 and E37 and I also used C-1 and 0 to blend to white. For the grass I used G00, G02, G05 and RV02, RV06 for the flowers.

Each of the dogs have been cut out and remounted onto the card as well as the butterfly which has been raised using foam tape.

Don't forget to pop on over to Sammi's Mad for Markers online shop for your Copic Orders and check out her blog for this weeks colour challenge with a great prize!

Hope you enjoy the card and have a great weekend.....stay tuned for some very exciting news which I will post next week! SSSShhhhhhhhh!

A Cute Easter Egg Project

My kids and I were playing around with decorating eggs, which led to us having lots of fun stamping and Copic-ing onto a boiled egg. This was purely experimental, but alot of fun to do!

I took photos of the process, but it actually turned out quite difficult to photograph properly (even though I played around with flash on and off).
Anyway, have a look at what we did, and the fun we had.....

First I started off stamping the image onto the egg....just a plain hard boiled egg.

I then masked the butterfly and used the Copic Airbrush System to Airbrush the background.

I used my Copics to colour the butterfly, and even experimented with the Spicas which did work on the egg.

I finished the egg off with a bit of kindi glitz and a cute pink bow.

It's a bit hard to see the detail of the egg, but nevertheless, I thought it would be a cute project to document. It turned out to be such fun experimenting with Copics on an egg!

(PS Thanks to Sharon for the inspiration to paint the egg!...What an amazing job she did with hers!)

Easter Sunday Bunny

Happy Easter Sunday!

Just wanted to post another cute Easter Card. I know it is a little similar to the last, but when it comes to it Easter is cute and pastel-ish and full of bunnies....!

This "Peep" stamp is a Whipper Snapper Design. It is packed with colours from almost every Copic colour family. I have intentionally kept it cute and bright. I have used Spicas to add some extra shadow and a bit of glitz!

I actually stamped the image again on the background so that I could keep the little music notes and words, and still be able to raise the main image and the little butterfly.

Enjoy the card....and enjoy your Easter Sunday!

Hippity, Hoppity Easter To You!

Hippity, Hoppity Easter to everyone!

This is my first card for the Mad for Markers DT. I thought I would stick to the Easter Theme for this post!

I have combined this beautiful Easter Bunny with separate images of the Easter eggs. All images are on the X-Press It Blending Card (which can be bought from Mad for Markers).

I used the following Copic Colours:
Bunny: E21, E29, E31, R20, E04, C-1, C-3, O
Eggs: BV00, BV02, BV04, RV000, RV10, RV21, YG00, YG03, YG06
(.... and of course I have added gold, pink, purple and clear Spica Pens at every opportunity)

I have cut out the bunny and each egg individually. I used foam tape to reconstruct and layer all the images to make this beautiful card! I finished the card off with little jewels to dot the "i" in the wording! I hope you all like it!

Have a very Happy Easter!
